What is The Atelier, a temporary film school?

The Atelier is a film school that exists for only five days — five days during which everyone can come and discover the secrets behind the making of films. An ephemeral yet intensely vibrant place: a shared space you enter like a studio, ready to witness the emergence of sounds, images, and stories. You move from one profession to another with the feeling of crossing the entire universe of the seventh art. Directing, virtual production, cinematography, special effects, animation, music composition, directing actors… so many interactive modules that reveal the behind-the-scenes of cinema. Here, you come to understand that cinema is not only a matter of light and framing, but also a dialogue between craftsmanship, imagination, and know-how.

Workshops and talks follow one another, fueled by the commitment of students and the expertise of professionals. It is through these exchanges of experience and perspectives that vocations are born and the cinema of tomorrow begins to take shape.

This initiative was born from a collaboration between the National School of Architecture of Clermont-Ferrand, the Camille-Claudel Center, the Emmanuel-Chabrier Conservatory of Clermont-Ferrand, and Le Court – an alliance that makes The Atelier a unique meeting point to discover, understand, and celebrate the art of cinema.
