“LeCourt” Application — Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival

## 1. Introduction
This privacy policy describes how the “LeCourt” mobile application (hereinafter “the App”), the official application of the “Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival”, handles data when it is used.
The App has been designed around the principle of “data minimisation”: it operates “without a user account, without registration and without collecting any identifying personal data”. This policy transparently informs you of the very limited technical data that is processed, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, as amended.
## 2. Data controller
The controller responsible for data processing is the association that organises the Festival:

The App is developed and published on behalf of the association by “Scopika” (https://scopika.com), acting as a technical processor within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR.
## 3. No account, no registration
The App offers “no account creation, no login and no registration”. You can use it entirely anonymously. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.
## 4. Data processed
### 4.1 Data stored only on your device
The following information is stored “locally on your device” and is “never transmitted to our servers”:
– your “favourites” (screenings, films, participants and programmes you select to build “My Festival”);
– your “preferences”: language, display theme (light/dark), and the option to hide screenings already seen.
This data cannot identify you. It remains under your control and is deleted when you uninstall the App (or clear its data from your device settings).
### 4.2 Data transmitted to our servers
To display the Festival’s programme and content, the App queries our servers. On these occasions, the following is processed:
– your “browsing and search queries” (for example, searching for a film or a participant by keyword, country or date). These criteria are used solely to return the matching results and are not retained for profiling purposes;
– an “anonymous audience measurement”: on launch, the App reports to our server the “platform used” (for example “ios”, “android” or “web”) in order to count the number of launches. This measurement is “not associated with any personal or device identifier”.
Technical exchanges with our servers may include your “IP address”, automatically sent by your device on any internet connection, along with standard technical data (device type, App version). These elements are used solely for routing requests and for security purposes, and are not used to identify you.
## 5. No trackers or advertising tools
The App “contains no SDK” for:
– third-party audience measurement (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.);
– advertising or ad retargeting;
– third-party crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.).
It “sets no advertising cookies” and “does not read your GPS location”, does not access your camera or your contacts, and does not send push notifications.
## 6. Features relying on external services
Some features open a third-party application or service. In such cases, “that service processes your data according to its own privacy policy”:
– “Directions”: when you request directions to a venue, the App opens your mapping application (Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.) with the venue’s coordinates. It is that external application that may, where applicable, use your location.
– “Phone calls”: when you tap a phone number (venue, hotel, etc.), the App opens your device’s dialer; no call is placed automatically.
– “Videos”: teasers and trailers are streamed via “Vimeo” (https://vimeo.com). Playback is subject to [Vimeo’s privacy policy](https://vimeo.com/privacy).
– “Social networks and web pages”: links to Instagram, Twitter/X or web pages open the corresponding service or browser, governed by their own terms.
## 7. Data recipients
Browsing data is processed by the servers operated on behalf of the Festival and its technical provider Scopika (notably the domains `shortfilmwire.com`, `scopika.com`, `clermont-filmfest.org`, `lecourt-clermont.org`, `notetoncourt.com`). No data is sold, rented or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
Video playback data is, by nature, processed by Vimeo when you start a video.
## 8. Transfers outside the European Union
The App relies on no service requiring, on our part, a transfer of personal data outside the European Union. The use of Vimeo for video playback may result in a transfer to the United States, governed by that provider’s own compliance mechanisms (standard contractual clauses and/or the Data Privacy Framework).
## 9. Legal bases
To the limited extent that any personal data is processed (for example, the IP address), processing is based on:
– the “legitimate interest” of the data controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in providing the requested service, ensuring the security of the App, and anonymously measuring its audience;
– the “performance of the service” you request when browsing the programme (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
## 10. Retention periods
– “Local data” (favourites, preferences): stored on your device until deleted by you or until the App is uninstalled.
– “Technical logs and anonymous audience measurement”: kept for no longer than necessary for operational and security purposes, generally “13 months” at most, then deleted or anonymised.
## 11. Security
Exchanges between the App and our servers are carried out over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the processed data against unauthorised access, alteration or loss.
## 12. Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights of “access”, “rectification”, “erasure”, “restriction”, “objection” and “portability” regarding your personal data.
As the App does not create an identifiable profile, we hold, in practice, no data enabling us to recognise you. To exercise your rights or for any question relating to this policy, you may contact us at: info@clermont-filmfest.org.

## 13. Protection of minors
The App is intended for the general public and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors. As no identifying information is requested, no specific processing of minors’ data is carried out.
## 14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App or to the applicable regulations. Any material change will be indicated by updating the date shown at the top of this document. We encourage you to review it regularly.
