MOUNIRA, a woman in her thirties, lives on the income from the small fricassees shop she inherited from her late father in the heart of the Henchir Lehoudiya junkyard in the southern suburbs of Tunis, an environment largely dominated by men. In this harsh and often ruthless environment, she faces daily challenges. Determined, like thousands of Tunisian women facing difficult circumstances, Mounira has shown an inner strength that enables her not only to overcome hardship, but also to run her business in a hostile environment.
