Aaaah! is an expression of pain, surprise, fear, joy, singing, grumbling, laughter, anger... Aaaah! is the cry used by children, these primitive and innocent beings, as they experience school life, under the whistle blasts of adult supervision.

Two lonely people at opposite chapters of life accidentally meet on a busy summer day in a Cairo taxi. Frail old Shawky and bubbly young Doaa are both caught up in their busy routines, as their race through the city evolves into a journey of self-discovery that reconnects them to life.

A few years before the Lumière brothers’ cinematograph, physiologist Georges Demeny created a device called phonoscope, to produce living portraits, and thus be able to “leave after us something documenting our existence that we can bring back to life like true apparitions”.
